In a quest to improve access to quality reproductive healthcare for underserved populations, DKT International has commissioned Aframase CHPS Compound in the Upper Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.
The health project is part of the Phil Harvey Memorial Project, established in honor of Mr. Phil Harvey, the founder of DKT International to serve the vulnerable.
To gain access to clean and safe drinking water, DKT Ghana has constructed boreholes in deprived communities across Ghana.
Alex Brown, the Country Director of DKT International Ghana, stated that the facility aims to provide primary healthcare services, maternal care, child welfare, and family planning to the people of Aframase and surrounding communities.

“When our team visited Aframase, we were deeply moved by what we saw — aside from the water challenges, patients were being treated in a classroom. That moment made it clear that this community needed more than water — it needed a dedicated health facility,” Alex Brown said.
He promised that DKT Ghana will provide the deprived communities with health infrastructure and boreholes to enable them to have access to clean and safe water to support the wellbeing of communities.
Alex Brown expressed his sincere appreciation to the Aframase community for generously supporting the construction process in various ways, from providing labor to assisting in logistics.
‘‘Your collective commitment to your own development is truly admirable, and this facility stands as a testament to your partnership and vision. We are deeply grateful for the support that made this project possible. Special appreciation goes to Hon. Bismark Tetteh Nyarko, MP for Upper Manya Krobo Constituency, for your unwavering support and encouragement throughout this journey,’’ he said.
‘‘In fact, the MP went a step further by giving out a piece of land that had earlier been allocated to him for the construction of a clinic, and also donated some materials to support the building of this facility,’’ Alex Brown added.
Alex Brown explained that DKT Ghana have worked to make reproductive health services and products accessible and affordable through their range of products which includes Lydia Oral Contraceptive Pill, Lydia IUD, Lydia Postpil, Kiss Condoms, and Fiesta Condoms and many others over a decade.
He affirmed that they have supported individuals and families in making informed decisions about their health, reaching out to communities across Ghana and making a real difference in lives.

Alex Brown urged the people of Aframase to take ownership of the CHPS Compound by protecting it for the next generations.
DKT International Ghana as part of commissioning Aframase CHPS Compound have organized a community health outreach activity, offering free health education, family planning services, and distribution of reproductive health products.
