An Engineer with the Electricity Company of Ghana, Abraham Tetteh Okoto, has been enstooled and out doored as Chief of Tei Nkwanta, a community near Koforidua, the Eastern regional capital.
The Cape Coast Technical University and Ghana Maritime University alumni was out doored at a durbar Sunday, July 16, 2023, with stool name Nene Tetteh Okoto Hotsinor (I).
He swore the oath as chief in the presence of the elders of Tei-Nkwanta and Akropong.
Nene Tetteh Okoto Hotsinor is married with three children.
He works with the Accra Ridge District office of ECG.
Tei Nkwanta community has existed for many years without a chief due to chieftaincy disputes resulting in worsening living conditions of the people.
Nene Tetteh Okoto Hotsinor I pledged to serve the community to facilitate development.
He lamented that the community is lagging in development stressing that it lacks safe drinking water, CHPs compound, waste disposal site and other basic social amenities.
The assured to lobby for all these developmental challenges to be fixed.
Nene Tetteh Okoto Hotsinor I, also announced his doors are opened to investors to come to the community to establish factories and companies to create employment opportunities for the youth.
He called for unity and the support of the community.
“as I have come I will ensure that each and every one comes on board because the development of the town is key, Tei Nkwanta should be the first thing in the minds of everyone, how the town will be able to develop so whatever issue that popped up during my installation we will put those things behind us and move forward”.
Evangelist John Ahoma, Tei Nkwanta Development Committee Chairman highlighted that the community lacks a CHPS compound, market and good drinking water saying the community source of water was the only river in the neighbourhood called ‘Asuo Yaa’ which has now been contaminated by human-related activities making it unsafe for drinking.
He, therefore, appealed to the government, philanthropists and individuals to come to the aid of the community.
He is confident, the new chief will lead the community to lobby for development.
