The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Suhum branch has reconnected Senior High Schools in Suhum Municipality after being taken off the national grid for days over indebtedness.
The action of ECG plugged many schools including Suhum PRESEC, SUTESCO, and Islamic Girls SHS in total darkness creating serious discomfort among students.
Students could not attend prep due to the power outage.
Administrative activities were also impaired as a result as many of the affected schools did not have fund to fuel generator sets.
According to ECG, the disconnection is part of the ongoing nationwide revenue mobilization exercise..
Suhum District Director of ECG, Thomas Ebuiley Ansah confirmed to Mybrytfmonline.com that the schools are back on national grid.
He how refuse to explain on phone if the schools made part payment before they were reconnected or due to intensed pressure mounted on ECG to reconnect the schools.
