The Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey, has urged Municipal and District Directors of Education in the Eastern Region to lead by inspiring their staff and developing a culture of respect and professionalism.
The Minister made this call during a meeting with all Municipal and District Directors of Education in the region at the New Juaben Senior High School Library in Koforidua.
Addressing the directors, Hon. Awatey emphasized that education is the most valuable legacy that can be passed on to the younger generation, enabling them to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
She called on the directors to work with dedication and manage their staff effectively. She added that education is the foundation of all development and, therefore, must be given the necessary attention to thrive.
Drawing from her background as a teacher, the Minister pledged to support their efforts to improve education in the region, stating that she is part of the teaching fraternity; hence, her office remains open for discussions on critical educational issues.
The Eastern Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Ivy Asantewaa Owusu (PhD), affirmed the commitment of the education directors to support the Minister’s vision.
She emphasized their readiness to collaborate closely with her office to deliver results and elevate the region’s educational standards.
The engagement marked the beginning of ongoing collaborations between the Regional Minister and the education sector, aimed at improving education across the Eastern Region.
