Seth Ayenor,farmer arrested for allegedly killing his wife Tarata Victoria, on Tuesday made his first appearance in Asesewa District Court in Eastern region for commencement of committal trial however the Judge was absent .
The accused was brought back to the Otokpolu Police cells to be remanded to reappear in court Thursday, 6 July, 2023.
Police arrested the accused on June 21,2023 for allegedly killing his wife at Apla,a rural community in the Lower Manya Krobo Municipality in the Eastern Region.
The accused allegedly killed the wife after misunderstanding ensued between them but told the Dademantse (Chief) in the community that the wife, Tarata Victoria,42, died after a wall collapsed on her.
He cleaned the blood on the ground, using a bedspread and some shirts in attempt to conceal the cause of death.
However, police retrieved the cloths soaked with blood at the back of the house.
Police also found a piece of marijuana in one of the shirts belonging to suspect.
The body of the deceased wife has been deposited at St. Martins Depores Hospital at Agormanya, pending autopsy.
