The contractor who worked on the Apersua Community Day School project near Nkurakan in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in Eastern Region has officially handed over the facility to the Ghana Education Service Directorate.
This follows public outcry particularly after some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress captured the facility on video and circulated the same to criticize the government for refusal to operationalize the school.
The Yilo Krobo MCE Ebenezer Kupualor has however said, the Municipal Assembly has officially received keys from a contractor which has been handed over to GES to begin processes for admission.
It is not clear if the school will begin admission for the 2021/2022 academic year.
The E-block school project was part of about 200 projects of the same architecture designs which were being constructed by former President John Mahama-led government.
It has 4 ICT labs, 12 offices for management and administration purposes, 48 washrooms for students, 12 washrooms for teachers, and 5 poly tanks for water supply.
