The 2023 Eastern Regional edition of Ghana Digital Innovation Week (GDIW) has been launched with the collaboration of German Development Corporation (GIZ) to offer a prime opportunity to connect with innovators, industry experts, and delve into collaborations that have the potential to mold the future of Ghana’s digital landscape.
GGDIW is a nationwide series of events showcasing and celebrating milestones in Ghana’s Digital Innovation Ecosystem with the aim to offer a platform for various actors to learn, share ideas and create connections to enhance the progress of the landscape.
It marks the accomplishment of Ghana’s digital innovation ecosystem and builds momentum towards a common vision for its future development.
The Deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo averred that the event marks a beginning of a transformative era for Ghana.
During the regional launch of the Ghana Digital Innovation Week at Koforidua Technical University, Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo stated that the program is a revolutionary improvement for the country.
Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo also shared ideas on improvement in the educational sector by the government.
She affirmed that the TVET is a vital engine to Ghana’s industrialization agenda adding that the government is committed to ensure young people are equipped with practical skills necessary for success.
Hon. Gifty Twum-Ampofo indicated that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) schools have been established to provide students a strong foundation in the country.
GDIW offered a prime opportunity to connect with innovators, gain insights from industry experts in the country.
Experts shared the innovative ideas during the launch.
The GDIW is a platform that seeks to create an enabling environment for micro-enterprises to use digital transformation to strengthen sustainability.
The event is co-created by international partners and government agencies, including the German Development Cooperation (GIZ), Israel’s Agency for International Development (AID), the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI) and the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization (MoCD), among others.
