The Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) is embarking on a regional sensitization tour to promote investment opportunities and assistance to businesses in the Eastern region.
The GIPC’s sensitization tour in the Eastern region is focused to educate stakeholders about the GIPC’s role in promoting investment in Ghana by highlighting the untapped economic potential and opportunities in the region.
GIPC is also encouraging Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and traditional authorities to make land available for investment purposes.
Gathering firsthand information from companies in the region about challenges they are facing and providing on-the-spot assistance for registration and facilitating the development and packaging of new investment projects for promotion was also focused in the regional tour.
The Head of the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council, Mr. John Donkor, said that the 2023 forum by GIPC is aimed to promote local and indigenous business in the region.
Mr. Donkor added that the regional sensitization will create avenues for businesses.
The local business men and women are important as their business generates wealth for the assemblies, region and the country at large.
Mr. Donkor urged all the MMDAs and key players to contribute significantly to help achieve the objective.
The Deputy Director for Investor Service Division at GIPC, Mr Kwame Kesse Agyepong on his part indicated that the forum has brought together potential investors, government officials, and businesses from the Eastern region to explore investment opportunities and partnerships as well as sensitize the business community about the GIPC’s activities and services.
Mr Agyepong added that the regional sensitization tour is a key initiative to promote investment and economic growth in all sixteen regions across the country.
GIPC is Ghana’s foremost investment promotion agency. The GIPC’s mandate is to attract, promote, and facilitate investment in Ghana.
The GIPC provides a range of services to investors, including investment facilitation, business advisory services, and market research.
The tour in the Eastern region started from November 20th under the theme “Grow in Ghana, Grow with Ghana.”
The tour is expected to end on Friday, November 24,2023.
