Mr. Isaac Fiifi Amarkye, the incumbent assembly member for Kru Town electoral area in the New Juaben South Municipality in the Eastern Region has been re-elected as representative for the assembly.
He pulled 601 votes more than his contender, Bretham Asiedu who had 203 out of the total valid votes cast.
Supporters of the incumbent Assemblymember were thrown into a state of jubilation amidst drumming and dancing even before the presiding officers officially declared the final results.
The situation at the Central Market electoral area was not different as the incumbent also drilled his contender to retain the seat.
Mr. William Opoku had 364 votes than his close contestant, Mr. Okyere Serebour Remi who also had 229 votes.
The turnout for this year’s district assembly and unit committee election has shown a sign of improvement contrary to the previous years.
A visit to some of the polling centres in both New Juaben North and South observed the election was peaceful devoid of any technical hitches.
