Asekesu No.1 a health centre in the New Juabeng North Constituency in the Eastern Region has benefited from a mechanized borehole to curb the persistent water crisis at the facility.
Hon. William Amankrah, a former NPP New Juabeng North Constituency Chairman Candidate joined some party members to commission a Mechanized Borehole at Asekesu No.1 health centre.
The project was fully funded by Hon. William Amankrah in fulfilment of the promise he made during the NPP Constituency election. The total cost of the project was GH 15,000.00.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. William Amankrah indicated that water is the most essential need of the human race for survival, hence the borehole will go a long way to be of benefit to those who use the health facility.
Taking into consideration the water crisis in the area, Hon. Amankrah pleaded with the users to take good care of the facility so that it can meet its lifespan.
The nurses and residents said the borehole will relieve them from the struggle they go through to get water where they are sometimes forced to walk for a long distance in search of water.
This reporter understands that, several appeals to the leadership of the New Juabeng North Municipal assembly and the current Member of Parliament, Hon. Agyei Boateng to provide the health centre water but to no avail.
The assembly member for the area, Hon. Benjamin revealed that he has written a lot of letters to the New Juabeng North Municipal Assembly and the MP’s office, but they always give him an excuse, stating is a rocky area, hence they cannot drill a borehole at the health facility.
Asekesu No. 1 chief, Nene Dawutey Padi commended Hon. William Amankrah for his efforts to provide them with a mechanized Borehole and pledged to ensure regular maintenance of the facility.
Commuters of the area were very proud and appreciative of their son, Hon. Amankrah for the marvellous works he’s been doing in the constituency.
