The Eastern and Volta Regional Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Rev. Dickson Sarpong Tuffour , has called on Ghanaians to embrace love and support for one another during the Christmas season.
Rev. Tuffour made the statement during a Christmas celebration organized by the church, where over 800 patients, caregivers, and staff, at the Eastern Regional Hospital were served meals.
The event is part of the church’s annual social responsibility initiative, started in 2018, to share Christ’s love with those enduring pain during the festive season.
He further encouraged Christians to renew their commitment to Christ and extend love to others, which he believes is vital for nation-building.
The Clinical Director of the Eastern Regional Hospital, Dr. Amponsah Manu Foster, expressed gratitude to the church for its continuous support. He used the opportunity to caution Ghanaians about their health, urging them to eat healthy and avoid contaminated food.
Dr. Amponsah-Manu also stressed the region’s vulnerability to cholera despite the absence of active cases.
He advised residents to maintain strict hygiene to prevent a resurgence of the disease, especially during the festive season.
This charitable act by ICGC not only brought smiles to the faces of many but also served as a reminder of the essence of giving and community during Christmas.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the church.
Meanwhile five babies were born on Christmas Day at the hospital.
