In the quest to find a solution to the growing unemployment situation in the country, management of Jocelyn Fit, a Koforidua based Fashion Cake and decor training centre has launched a passionate appeal to the National Vocational Training Institute to give the centre the accreditation to run certificate programmes.
Speaking in an interview with Nhyiraba Nartey Solomon during the 4th graduation ceremony held in Koforidua, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the centre Mrs. Joyce Pechi-Anim hinted that grandaunts would be effectively and efficiently recognized if the centre is accredited.
She is of the view that, her outfit contributions is to complement the mission of NVITI which is to provide demand-driven employable skills and enhance the income generating capacities of basic and secondary school leavers, and such other persons through competency-based Apprenticeship, Master craftsmanship, Testing and Career development.
Jocelyn Fit assists youths to gain practical experience in fashion designing, decoration making, bakery, confectionery courses and other programs in their chosen career path to provide skills and training to the youths to be self-independent.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Joycelyn Fit Fashion Cake and decor, Madam Joyce Pechi-Anim pleaded with the government for accreditation to help the young generation to become entrepreneurs.
Mrs. Joyce Pechi-Anim appealed to the youths especially those with low level of education to enroll in the practical programs and also take skills and training seriously as it plays a vital role in supporting economic growth and development at both the individual and community level.
The Eastern Regional Director of National Youth Authority (NYA), Mrs. Marian Mansa Minah commended Madam Joyce Pechi-Anim for her brave achievement for providing skills training to the youth.
Mrs. Marian Mansa continued that the brave efforts for equipping the youth with skills and training will help the contribution of the development of the nation since entrepreneur skills enable the youth to become self-empowered and also financially independent.
The Eastern Regional Director of NYA urged the unemployed youth to enroll in the various entrepreneur programs as stakeholder has shown interest in delivering opportunities for skills training and employment for the youth.
She stated that NYA is mainly focused on its mandate to coordinate and facilitate youth empowerment activities in Ghana to ensure development of the Ghanaian youth as a whole as the Authority advocates, facilitates and ensures the mainstreaming of youth development issues into national development frameworks, plans and programs in all sectors.
