The Limited Voter Registration Exercise has taken off smoothly at Electoral Commission’s Office in West Akyem Municipal capital, Asamankese of the Eastern Region.
The EC office in the Municipal has set up two Registration tables for smooth exercise from 12th September to 2nd October 2023.
In an interview with acting Municipal Director of the Electoral Commission, Madam Sarah Gyamfuah said the New Patriotic Party, National Democratic Congress and Ghana Union Party have their representatives at the office monitoring the exercise.
She said the Commission is expecting new Voters from all the 134 polling stations in the Lower West Akyem Constituency and urged new Voters to take advantage of the exercise and register.
In the 2020 Voter registration exercise,the EC registered about 70,000 voters, but less than 50,000 registered voters Participated in the 2020 Parliamentary and Presidential Elections.
