The maiden edition of the Kingsley Keep Fit Club Inter-High School Football Gala for Senior High Schools, SHS in the Abuakwa north municipality climaxed over the weekend.
The games which were spearheaded by the Registrar at the Scholarship Secretariat, Mr Kingsley Agyemang had Abuakwa State College succumbs to a 4-0 defeat by Kibi Technical School (KITECH) in the final game.
Apart from the winners taking home handsome and mouth-watering special prizes, awards were given to individuals who showed brilliance during the tournament including the Luki Golden Boot Award (Highest Goal Scorer) which was worn by Stephen Nyanne of KITECH; Beulah Gloves Award (Best Goalkeeper) won by Kelvin Addo of ABUSCO and GFA Best Player (Overall Best Player) going to Edward Agyapong of KITECH.
In his speech, Mr Kingsley Agyemang indicated that he believes young people within the Municipality are assets and the least he can do is to help unearth their various talents in them and that remains his conviction.
He was grateful to his partners for their support, that is; The Ghana Education Service, Ghana Football Association, Beulah Insurance Brokers Limited, Functions Ghana, Vibe Consult, Luki Media and Stalwart Ventures Ghana.
Again, Mr Agyemang also commended football legends including; Eric Bekoe, Francis Akwafo, Gabriel Opoku Ware, formerly of Asante Kotoko FC; Don Bortey and Kofi Abanga, formerly of Accra Hearts of Oak and Stephen Kumah formerly of Liberty Professionals who took up roles as technical directors.
Key individuals who graced the occasion include the GFA President, Kurt Okraku; the Municipal Chief Executive, Honourable Akosua Asabea Annoh; the Regional Director of Education, Mrs Margarete Nsia-Asareand her team from the region; the Municipal Director for Education, Mr Daniel Yeboah Heinno and his team, Joe Djaba, Berlin-Germany; Assembly Members; the Municipal Health Directorate; Head of Ambulance Service-Kibi and the District Police Command.
