A 35-year-old man identified as Samuel Gyekye has gunned down his 42-year-old fiancée at Akyem Nkroso in Abuakwa South Constituency of the Eastern Region.
The incident occurred last night.
The deceased only identified as Abena Owusua, was cohabitating with the suspect after delivering a 5-year-old son with him.
According to Nicholas Owusu, a resident, the relationship has been riddled with misunderstandings.
He said the suspect is a farmer and Hunter reportedly shot the fiancee during one of these misunderstandings Monday night.
The suspect, according to him, attempted suicide by hitting his head with a hammer but collapsed and regained consciousness during the arrival of the Police.
He has since been arrested and sent to the hospital for treatment.
Body of the deceased deposited at the morgue.
