A 45-year old man wanted for butchering ex-girlfriend for refusing to accept him back has allegedly committed suicide by drinking suspected poison.
The incident occured at Aburi -Ketase in Eastern region.
Bernard Essel Nana Yeboah ,45, a baker, is alleged to have killed himself by drinking poison .
Bernard Nana Yeboah sneaked into the house of his ex-girlfriend , Patricia Amerdi, 40, and whil she was leaving the house early in the morning to Accra to buy fruits to trade with, attacked and inflicted multiple machete wounds on her.
Patricia was rushed to emergency theater of Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital for treatment.
She has since been discharged.
The suspect went into hiding after committing the act hence declared wanted by the local police.
He was however found dead in almost decomposing state in his room Monday August 14,2023.
According to Nana Asante Aboagye alias Nana Sadat, Ankobeahene at Atwiesin, a bottle believed to be poison was found beside the deceased.
The body was retrieved by police and deposited at the morgue.
The substance has also been taken for laboratory testing.
