A Metro Mass Bus driver has died in a fatal head-on collision accident with a Lowbed truck vehicle at Akyem Anyinam in the Eastern Region.
The body of the deceased driver -George Mensah has been deposited at the Morgue.
According to the local police, On Saturday, January 16, 2021, at about 10 .30am driver George Mensah aged 46 years now deceased was in charge of the Metro Mass Transit bus with registration number GW 5859 – 18 with passengers onboard driving from Accra to Kumasi.
However, on reaching a section of the road at Akyem Anyinam town near Hospital junction, suspect driver yet to be identified in charge of Shacman Lowbed with registration number GW 5698 -16 which was also heading towards Accra from Kumasi direction veered off into the lane of the Metro Mass Transit bus and collided head-on.
The driver of the Metro Mass Transit bus died on the spot. His body was removed and deposited at Chad Hospital at Osino pending autopsy.
Other passengers and drivers of the Lowbed sustained minor injuries in rushed to the hospital.
Both accident vehicles towed to the Anyinam Police station for further action.
