Over the weekend, the Mile-14 District of The Church of Pentecost in Eastern Region held its maiden Summer Games and Sports Evangelism, with participation from all eleven local assemblies of the church.
The competition was organised under the district’s three-family system — Nyamekye,Asante and Etrue — each named after the church’s leadership.
From football and athletics to draft, ludo, and netball -members showcased their skills and thrilled spectators.
Kick-off for the games was performed by the Mile-14 District Pastor, Overseer Theophilus Buadee
As the matches went on, the evangelism team seized the opportunity to share the Gospel with those who had gathered.
Ovr. Theophilus Buadee, Mile-14 District Pastor said about 200 souls were targeted.
Mrs. Regina Esi Buadee, wife of the District Pastor, stressed the importance of the event in building both physical health and spiritual unity.
Some participants told the media that they hope the Summer Games will become a regular feature in the church’s calendar.
The Etrue Family emerged overall winner and gold medalists.
With membership steadily growing, leaders say the Mile-14 District is determined to keep combining faith and fellowship in creative ways.
