Two persons have died after a mining pit collapsed on some group of illegal miners at Osino in Fanteakwa South District in Eastern Region.
Rescue team including police and national disaster management organization were at the scene about 1:55am on Thursday.
Three of the victims were retrieved from the mining pit and rushed to Hawa Memorial Hospital at Osiem but two were pronounced dead by Dr. Angela Gyasi who was on duty.
The two unidentified bodies have been deposited at morgue of the hospital.
The survivor Francis is receiving treatment at the same facility.
