The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong, has inspected the ongoing construction of the Eastern Regional Hospital in Koforidua and he is impressed with the engineering work done.
Phase one of the new hospital project involves the construction of a two hundred and eighty-five (285) bed facility, out of the total capacity of six hundred (600) beds.
The contractors (Tyllium U.K. Ltd) assured the minister of meeting the deadline of December 2023.
President Akufo-Addo cut sod for the construction in 2020 before the general elections as part of his tour to the region on a campaign trail.
Meanwhile, there have been several commentaries on the state of the project as most people are of the view that the Contractor may not meet the deadline due to the slow pace of work.
