A suspected mobile money fraudster has been arrested by Police in Koforidua, Eastern Regional capital after GHc1,500 fraudulent transaction.
On October 6, 2020, the suspect Mensah Israel at about 11:50pm went to conduct a mobile money transaction near Koforidua Total-2 filling station.
The 55-year-old vendor Joy Nwevo said the Suspect made her transfer Ghc1,500 to MTN number 0546279029 but noticed he was not forthcoming in giving her the physical cash.
The suspect attempted to abscond but the mobile money vendor apprehended him.
The vendor attempted to reverse the transaction but noticed the money has been withdrawn while the number switched off since
The mobile money vendor dragged the suspect to the Central police station where he was kept in custody to assist the investigation.
