The New Patriotic Party’s agenda to break the eight-year jinx on the Ghanaian political scene and boost democratic governance has had a huge boost with the call for all party members and sympathizers to join forces to make it possible.
Mr Samuel Yeboah Gyimah, New Juabeng South Constituency Youth Organizer has said that in the spite of the global economic downturn, which had invariably affected the local economy, there is still hope in the good policies of the government.
He said the prospects for Ghanaians envisaged in the quest to ‘Break the 8’ by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government are huge and beneficial to the citizenry.
Morocco, as he has widely become known, met over 170 polling station youth organizers called on the members to support the policies and programmes of the government in addressing the hardships.
“We want to empower the youth in the constituency in every aspect, capacity building, scholarship, supporting small business entities financially,” he said.
Morocco noted that the time has come for the youth of the NPP in the constituency to be empowered to become financiers of the party and not just used for its campaigns.
He said this is the right time for the New Juabeng South constituency to build the party to ensure it becomes stronger and formidable ahead of the 2024 Elections, to enable the party to break the eight-year cycle of winning power, termed as ‘Breaking the 8’.
On Sunday 7th August 2022, Mr Samuel Yeboah Gyimah and some key members in the constituency met over 170 polling station youth organizers and some party sympathizers towards effective membership and communication drives in the constituency to consolidate the fortunes of the party towards winning the election 2024.
In attendance were, Hon, Micheal Okyere Baafi, MP for New Juabeng South, Tony Osei Adjei E/R NPP secretary, Nana Yaw Papin E/R assistant secretary, and Mr Adamu Musah Raha E/R youth Organizer, Hon. Isaac Apaw Gyasi, New Juabeng south MCE and a host of other constituency executives.
“As youth organizers, what we can do to rescue the party in the 2024 elections is to spread the good news about the government, and enhance the electoral fortunes of the party,” he told the enthusiastic polling station, youth organizers, after the four-hour long meeting.
Mr Samuel Yeboah Gyimah called for unity among all members, from the grassroots to the national level, and stressed that victory in the 2024 elections is possible through collective efforts of all and sundry to be able to break the 8 and save Ghanaians from further hardship in the future.
“Breaking the 8 is our responsibility and victory is in our own hands,” he noted assured his commitment to promoting unity in the party, particularly in the constituency.
According to him, NPP is the only political party that can provide social interventions to give Ghanaians the needed socio-economic relief and emphasized that the only way the party can avoid relegation to the opposition side is for all to poll resources together to propagate the good works of Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration.
He noted that a lot has been done by the government for the constituency such as the construction of two astroturfs, construction of Polyclinic at Nyamekrom, police post, internal roads, over 250 jobs created, rebuilding of Jackson Park and others.
