Most leisure hotels in the Eastern Region have been booked ahead of the Christmas festivities, according to the Ghana Tourism Authority.
This, according to the Authority, is a result of the Year of Return celebration which has really had a great impact on the tourism industry.
Mr. Frederick Adjei-Rudolph, the Eastern Regional Manager of the Authority, in an interview with Bryt FM news indicated that most hotels in Akosombo and many other tourist areas have had their facilities fully booked.
He added, checks from the facilities also revealed that most of the persons are foreigners who have come to join Ghana in the Year of Return celebration.
Mr. Adjei-Rudolph emphasized, his outfit has been able to visit hotels and tourist sites within the region to access their activities and to ensure they abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the Authority.
He, therefore, advised operators to improve on their services in terms of accommodation and cuisine to woe their visitors into enjoying our local meals.
