Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa South, Kofi Okyere Agyekum has emphasised on the important roles NGOs play in the development of the country and has therefore commended them for that.
Speaking at the launch of Rural Development Advocacy Project, an NGO at Akyem Juaso on Friday, the MP called on NGOs and other agencies to continue to support people in deprived areas so as to augment Government’s efforts.
He, however, appealed to NGOs to also focus on the Southern part of the country as most of the concentration has been in the north even though communities in the south are also facing numerous Challenges.
The MP also assured the NGO of his support at all times to ensure they augment his effort in the district to seek the welfare of citizens.
The CEO of the NGO, Ohene Nyantakyi also spoke about the rationale behind the formation of the entity by emphasising it is basically to help assist the needy especially in the field of education.
He also hinted the NGO would soon establish a centre to offer skills training to the youth.
BECE Candidates were presented with a mathematical set as the NGO’s assistance to support them in the examination.
