The Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North Betty Krosby Mensah has donated huge equipment to boost health, educational institutions, community empowerment, and Agriculture.
Residents were wowed at a durbar to distribute the equipment on Sunday, June 12, 2022.
The items donated include, 2 Incubators, 2 Theatre Beds, 3Delivery Beds, 12 Electronic and Manual beds, 16 hospital mattresses, 200 pieces of hospital aprons, 100 pieces of Nose masks, 20 wheelchairs, 30 walking sticks and clutches, 50 packs of diapers for adults and a Baby’s Court were donated to the District Health Directorate and the Donkorkrom Presbyterian Hospital.
Additionally, 1,200 branded exercise books, 1,000 storybooks, 500 Dual Desks, and 100 Teachers’ Tables and Chairs were made available to the Ghana Education Service.
150 Bicycles and 5 Corn and Cassava mill machines were also made available to benefit farmers and mothers who travel long distances to get their corn and cassava milled.
The items were procured by the office of the Member Of Parliament for Afram Plains North in collaboration with donor partners; Sinkunia Community Development Organization, Emmanuel Foundation, and YEG Rotary Club all in Alberta Canada.
The items were donated to Donkorkrom Presbyterian hospital, and schools and Agricultural equipment were given to the Kwahu Afram Plains North District to be managed for use by farmers.
According to the MP “This is a further manifestation of my commitment as the Member of Parliament for Afram Plains North to re-tool and re-equip the District Health, Education and Agric sector to enable them to perform their duties without restrain. Financing for these items was a collaborative effort from my Office as the Member of Parliament and three (3) NGOs in Canada called Sikunia Community Development, YEG Rotary Club Edmonton, and Emmanuel Foundation all in Canada” the MP said.
The MP further said,” I would also use the opportunity to thank our Guest Speaker; Hon. Alex Hottordze-Member of Parliament(Central Tongu) and Baba Jamal Konneh-NDC Regional Elections Director for their presence and immense support towards a successful program.
Special thanks also go to the following dignitaries for gracing the occasion; Mr. Francis Apungu- District Director-Ghana Health Service District Director, Mr. Solomon Azubila Akorunko-Ghana Education Service, Mr. Ezekiel Amadu Daribi-General Manager of Donkorkrom Presby Hospital, Prophet Caleb Daribi-President of the Local Council of Churches and his team of Pastors, District Chief Imam Alhaji Osman Fuseini, Nana Okai Kwaku Nkansah II-Kontihene of Donkorkrom and Chiefs from Kwaekese, Atakora, Asikesu”
