The staff of the National Commission on Civic Education, NCCE, in Afram Plains South District of the Eastern Region escaped death when a falling tree crashed onto their office at Tease, the District capital.
The tree located on the premises of the Community center close to the office of the NCCE broke and fell on the building which was previously being used by the District Education Directorate.

Close observation suggests that the stem of the tree was weakened after it was consumed by a fire set into rubbish heaped around the tree a few days ago.
The tree, therefore, broke after a short windstorm crashing on the corridor of the building.
Two of the four offices in the building had their roofs and woods damaged by the impact.
No casualty or injury was recorded.

The Assembly Member for the Area Micheal Kpodotsi together with NADMO staff and Members of the Unit Committee cut down the hanging branches and stem morning to avert disaster.
