The Municipal Chief Executive for New Juaben North Samuel Adongo has support calls for enforcement of sanitation by-laws across the country to ensure compliance by citizens.
His commitment comes after Oyokohene, Nana Osei Bonsu Sempei expressed dissatisfaction about citizens involvement in the national sanitation day exercise instituted by the government to help deal with issues concerning personal hygiene.

The chief who had personally helped in sensitizing the people for the past months was not enthused with the number of citizens who participated in the exercise last Saturday.
The MCE, Hon Adongo in his remarks indicated “I have personally been on radio stations several times educating the public on the need to keep the surroundings clean and also partaking in the exercise. As an Assembly, we have also engaged traditional leaders and also initiated public sensitization for all these months, so I support the call for enforcement of the by-laws so as to serve as a warning to others”.

He warned that, the municipality will soon launch Sanitation Taskforce to ensure the public comply with the by-laws and also arrest wrong doers to face the law.
A huge refuse dump was evacuated at Oyoko in an intervention by the MCE after several complaints from residents.

Meanwhile, residents appealed to Zoomlion Ghana Limited to replace an old waste bin.
Even though the exercise was carried out across all the electoral areas within the municipality, the major one led by the MCE was held at Oyoko, with the support of the traditional council, cooperate bodies and some residents.
