New Juaben South Director of Education Mustapha Haruna Appiah has lauded the attendance of BECE Candidates in day one of the examination.
According to the Director out of the total number of 2488 candidate only two students were absent due to a medical condition of one female student from Apempoa JHS and another male student from Victory Land Preparatory School who has quitted school long time after he registered.
He said 1166 of the candidates were boys and 1322 were girls.
The Director said “the total number of candidates are 2488 out of which 1166 are boys and 1322 are girls , we have four centres each centre has also been divided into two ‘A’ and ‘B’ and so in all we have 8”.
“Out of this we have 76 schools 49 Public and 27 Private , the supervisors are 7 , assistant supervisors are 9 , invigilators are 87”
“I am impressed with the atmosphere so far after going round to witness what is happening , children are well composed in the classrooms , the supervisors and the invigilators are also poised to do the work from today Monday up till the Friday that they will finish”he said.
This year no pregnancy case has been recorded so far in the first day of the examination.
The Director encourage the students to comport themselves and abstain from any examination practices.
The Director made the disclosure during his visit to 4 Examination Centres in the Municipality to monitor happenings in the various centres.
Mrs. Vida Nkansah Kyeremateng Regional Manager for Presbyterian Schools also advised parents to assist their children by providing all their needs during this period of the examination to help them psychologically and have peace of mind to write the exams.
The MCE for New Juaben South Hon. Isaac Appaw Gyasi motivated the students to have confidence in themselves that they can pass the exams well.
