Parliamentary aspirant hopeful of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for New Juaben South Constituency in Eastern region, Eric Yeboah Wadie in collaboration with the Eastern regional NDC party executives embarked on a unity health walk over the weekend as part of plans to galvanize support for the party ahead of 2024 presidential and parliamentary election.
The Eastern regional party executives led by the regional Chairman Dr. Mark Oliver Kevor joined hands with thousands of party members in the constituency as well as some past regional executives of the party and a group of people branded in the party apparel with the inscription ‘first time voters’ boldly written chanting and dancing .
The unity health walk commenced from the premises of Koforidua Total 2 filling station and continued through Betom to Srodae to Asokore and ended at Koforidua Zongo market.
Addressing the gathering to climax the unity health walk, the parliamentary aspirant hopeful Eric Yeboah Wadie urged all NDC party members in the constituency to unite as one family to win the New Juaben South parliamentary seat for the NDC in the 2024 general elections.
Eric Yeboah Wadie refuted assertion that the New Juaben South is stronghold of the NPP, stating that NDC can win the seat if gets a strong and competent candidate who can mobilize the masses and floating voters to buy into NDC’s vision of development.
“we can do the work but we will be able to do it better only if we unite.I am fully confident that we can win the New Juaben South parliamentary seat for the NDC .The seat does not belong to the NPP. I am coming because of the well being of Koforidua everybody is capable of leading the party here but we need a candidate who can win heart of the other side to vote for the NDC. I strongly believe that I bear those qualities and surely because of me those who have not voted for the NDC before when I am elected as parliamentary aspirant , they will vote for the NDC”.
He also accused the current MP Michael Okyere Baafi and the governing NPP government for the failure to develop the Eastern region particularly Koforidua citing the bad town roads
“We need a lot of things in Koforidua , I can see we are far behind , our roads and everything is not encouraging, when I am elected as MP my focus is to develop Koforidua and make Koforidua a better place for all of us” he said.
The Eastern regional party organizer, Mr. Hackman Kabore entreated all party members to actively participate in the party’s limited registration exercise especially the first time voters.
