Madam Yaa Ansaa Safori, Chief Executive Officer of Yaa Ansaa Safori Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organization based in Koforidua and Aspiring member of Parliament for New Juaben South constituency, has donated building materials worth Ghc 10,000 to supported the Ada community, a suburb of Koforidua in the New Juaben South municipality of the Eastern Region, that will geared towards refurbishment of over fourth (40) years deteriorating water reservoir hence to supply drinkig water to the residents in the entire catchment area.
She assured to facilitate for more development projects, training, jobs and enhance education among other social interventions in the Constituency when delegates gives her the opportunity.
The initiative is to ensure that, Koforidua in the shortest possible time, can boast of human resources base poised to contribute to national development.
Some of the building materials donated include 50 bags of cements, 5 packets of roofing sheets, 50 boxes of roofing nails, 50 boxes of bottle water together with 2×6, 2×4 woods and undisclosed amount of money to help support community communal labour towards the project that seeks to address the social challenges and improve the welfare of residents in the area.
Similarly, Ansaa Safori Foundation has over the past years offered support to many residents in the New Juaben South especially the aged, registered over 1000 children and adults onto the National Health Insurance Scheme, supported BECE candidates, Koforidua Central Hospital, supported women after delivery at the hospital, organised breast cancer awareness for women, support New Juaben South farmers day awards, presented items to NJSC party office, Artisans, Beauticians, tailorers and many other luxury contributions towards the growth of the constituency over the years.
Even though government through the New Juaben South Municipal Assembly is doing the best to improve the socio-economic development growth of ada community, the community still lack some social amenity that include drinking water, public toilet roads and others due to rapid growth of pollution.
Meanwhile, the source of drinking water for the community which is a storage in a reservoir, has not seen any face lift, over pass 40 years and continues to deteriorating, hence the support of Yaa Ansaa Safori Foundation to help improve development and social cohesion for the people.
Speaking to the media after the program, the parliamentary candidate hopeful for New Juaben South constituency, who also doubles as the Chief executive officer of Yaa Ansaa Saafori explained that, water is essential commodity in human life therefore deem it fit to supported the refurbishment of the storage water project when she received a distressed calls from the community to assist them solve their water challenges and also joined them in the communal environmental cleanliness.
According to her, she grew up in Koforidua and has drunk water from same reservoir before and since she has been supporting other communities, however as a Mother she can’t turn her back on them to rely fetching water from the deteriorated reservoir, and nevertheless poses danger to their health status hence the move to donated the building materials to them.
Yaa Ansaa Safori seized the opportunity to announced her bid to contest the parliamentary primaries on the ticket NPP, for New Juaben South constituency when the nomination is open.
She further noted that, the privilege to contest the New Juaben South constituency primaries comes as a surprise when some people and Chiefs of the New Juaben South Constituency seen her philanthropic works as a good gesture and for that reason, sending her to Parliament will not be regrettable therefore, calling on her to come and contest for the New Juaben South parliamentary seat and lead them into the promise land.
On his part in an interview, Adahene of New Juaben Traditional Area, Nana Agyei Sarpong II commended the CEO for Yaa Ansaa Safori Foundation for her kind gesture.
The Adahene adds, that they would rally their support behind her to ensure she wins the New Juaben South NPP’s parliamentary primaries because if she go to Parliament as their MP she would do bigger things for them.
Nana Agyei Sarpong II, called on government and well meaning individuals to come to the side of the community thereby providing basic amenities to address sanitation and access to good drinking water.
Nana Agyei Sarpong II, contend that lack of public toilet in the community is paving way for open deification which could result in outbreaks diseases in the community.
Meanwhile the Assemblyman for Ada Magazine Electoral Area, Richard Okyere, was full of praised to Yaa Ansah Sarfori for her kind gesture.
He supported the call from the chief and pledged his readiness to spearhead the agenda at the assembly general meeting to solve the open deification challenges of the community.
