Some sex workers in Koforidua have dared to expose security capos and personnel who sleep with them in return for bail anytime they are arrested by the police.
According to the prostitutes, it is high for them to expose the bad behaviours of some personnel who take advantage of them and later speak ill about them.
The threat comes at the back of the many several arrests of some alleged Ghanaian and Nigerian sex workers at some designated areas in Koforidua for the past months.
The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly, the Police and the Immigration Service have together waged war on the influx of many Nigerian sex workers to the Regional capital, making business uneasy for perpetrators.
The Anti Human Trafficking Department of the Eastern Regional Police Command has also taken delivery of a cabin Pick Up from philanthropists to spearhead activities of child trafficking, which seems to be gaining root in the region.
But in an exclusive interview with some of the Nigerian sex workers, they angrily alleged some senior police officers, as well as other service personnel, have sex with them in return for their bail anytime they are arrested.
Some revealed having personal phone contacts of some of these officers who sometimes even call them to demand sex in the assurance of protecting them from any further arrests.
“My brother, make I tell you the truth. I get one big Police officer wey he dey call me for free sex whenever he wants to release himself. All because say since the first time the police arrest me, Ibi he wey he helps free me and since that day, he just dey enjoy my body for free” a Nigerian sex worker said profusely.
She vowed to release the names and phone contacts of all the officers she has had an affair with if they dare come around to arrest her for engaging in prostitution.
However, some Ghanaian sex workers were in support of the action of the police but beg for mercy for themselves and their Ghanaian counterparts as there are no alternative jobs to earn a living.
The Ghanaians complain that their counterparts from Nigerians are mostly patronised as compared to those from the country, hence supporting the idea of authorities to end their activities.
