The Aspiring Member of Parliament hopeful for the New Patriotic Party in the Atiwa East Constituency in the Eastern region Eric Ofori Agyarko has donated smart HP laptop computers and a 50 inch Sumsung digital television to the regional party office in Koforidua.
Eric Ofori Agyarko, an astute member of the New Patriotic Party contested in the 2016 primaries and is the current Youth Organizer at Washington DC Metro Chapter of the NPP.
Speaking in an interview after he made the donation to the Regional Executives of the party , Eric Ofori Agyarko said it is his heart desire to support the party and to help digitalize the regional office in terms of data keeping and connecting the regional office to the various constituencies for exchange of information especially during elections.
He said ” we are in a digital era and we believe in data and information the party officials and the party agents may need these equipments during election period for data collection hence there is the need for us to equip them with the needed communication tools and equipments to make their work very easy”
“we will not wait until election time before we look out for those things for them, I’m even looking in a bigger picture that upon the completion of the new regional office I will build several platforms that will connect the regional office to all constituencies to make data access and exchange of information easy as well as keeping of records on decision making the past and the presence all available and easily accessible” he added.
“I will not relent on this , already I have an intention to help furnish the new regional party office and my own constituency office with projectors and other digital gadgets to assist in the training of party officials because elections are always won at the polling stations so when we equip our official to know the rudiments on how to win an election at the polling station then it is a step in the right direction and to the benefit of the party” He said.
On the other hand, the Eastern Regional Secretary for the New Patriotic Party Tony Osei Adjei received the donated items on behalf of the party and lauded Eric Ofori Agyarko for the support to the regional party’s office saying others should emulate his example to help equip the party in the Eastern region.
The Eastern Regional Secretary of the party Tony Osei Adjei further urged all Parliamentary Aspirant Hopeful in the Eastern region to stay away from campaign of insult and the use of unmeasurable words targeting their contenders in the same race or contest.
According to him, engaging in campaign of insult only defame the candidate the party present after the internal election and weakens his credentials to compete in the main general election.
