A Nurse at Asamankese in the West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region has tested positive for Covid-19 after serving as a bridesmaid during a wedding ceremony.
All the bridesmaids have also tested positive.
Some other members of the bridal party and wedding guests are reportedly infected with the virus.
The status of the bride and groom is yet to be known but reports indicate they are in isolation.
The Nurse who works at West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern Region is currently in isolation undergoing treatment, as well as those tested positive.
It is not clear the exact number of persons in the bridal party infected but sources say many people could be infected particularly during the photography section of the wedding where family and friends took pictures with the newly wedded couple and their bridal party without nose masks.
A few months ago, a nurse died at the Eastern Regional Hospital having been infected with the virus after attending a funeral.
Ghana’s Covid-19 death toll as of January 23, 2021, stood at 372, with 3,613 active cases out of which 29 are in critical conditions, while 79 are severely ill.
Two Covid-19 patients at the treatment center in the Eastern Regional Hospital -Koforidua are said to be in critical condition on Tuesday, mybrytfmonline.com source confirmed.
The health conditions of the two who are in ventilators worsened Monday.

The two are among 71 Covid-19 cases recorded within two weeks in New Juaben South Municipality.
Its neighboring Municipality-New Juaben North has also recorded five cases.
Health experts have warned that the rate of spread in New Juaben South is becoming alarming with a call on authorities to enforce the wearing of nose masks and adherence to Covid-19 preventive protocols.
The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) on Monday, January 25, 2021, recommended to President Akufo Addo to immediately placed restrictions on Church Services other social gatherings and regulates market activities across the country to help curb the spread of Covid-19
GMA is worried over the widespread disregard of the preventive protocols of Covid-19 amidst rising cases warning that the situation may worsen if pragmatic and stringent measures are not rolled out.
