An Okada rider and a pillion have been seriously injured in a near-fatal accident at Akyem Takworase a community near Akwatia in the Eastern Region.
The victims -Prince Amoah, 31, rider and the pillion rider Robert Ohene Tutu, 33, are on admission at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Takworase health center respectively.
According to the Police, at about 1:00 pm they received information that there is a motor crash near Akyem Takrowase police station involving an unregistered Royal motorbike.
Police proceeded to the scene of the crash and found the suspected unregistered Royal motorbike with victims seriously injured.
The rider Prince Amoah age 31 years together with pillion rider Robert Ohene Tutu age 33 years sustained multiple degrees of injuries and were rushed to Akyem Takrowase Health Centre and St Dominic Hospital Akwatia respectively for treatment.
But the rider whose lower face was horrifically disfigured was referred to Korle Bu Teaching Hospital where surgery has been performed on her face but unable to eat and hence fed through nasogastric intubation.
The accident motorbike has been impounded by the police.
Sergeant James Nii Quartey is leading the investigation into the cause of the terrible crash.
