One person has been confirmed dead while over 20 passengers injured in a fatal bus crash that occured near Kpong on the Tema to Akosombo highway.
The bus with registration number GT 5922-16 carrying dozens of passengers to Accra reportedly rammed into a stationary Sino truck with registration number GT3932-20 Saturday night.
It took the joint rescue team of personnel from Police,Ghana National Fire Service and Ambulance service hours before all the victims were retrieved from the mangled bus and rushed to three different hospitals -Yilo Krobo District hospital, St.Martins Deporess and Akuse hospitals
The crash occured less than 48 hours after two students of Osino Presbyterian Senior High Technical School in Fanteakwa South District of Eastern region also died in fatal crash.
Over 10 other students were seriously injured.
The crash occured at Friday at Teacher Mante,a community along the Accra to Kumasi Highway while they were returning to their homes in Accra for a mid-term break.
The students were aboard a Nissan minibus with the registration number GG-2071-21.
According to eyewitnesses,one of the front tyres of the vehicle which was speeding bursted but the driver attempted to apply the brakes causing the vehicle to somersault.
The two students- Ruth Ayeh and Anordjan Florence lost their lives instantly.
