Michael Oteng Adu has received overwhelming endorsement as the Eastern Regional Second Vice-chairman aspirant of the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP.
Mr Oteng Adu has been touring some constituencies in the region interacting with delegates to share his vision with them.
He filed his nomination forms on Tuesday, May 17, 2022. The Second Vice Chairmanship position is being contested by five other aspirants.
However, Mr Oteng Adu is confident of winning.
He said when voted for as 2nd Vice-chairman, he will champion the establishment efficient welfare fund, and establish a communication fund for strategic research and communication to help advertise government policies and interventions in the region.
He also says, he will advocate for the allocation of resources according to each constituency’s needs to enable the disadvantaged constituencies to have the needed resources required to annex parliamentary seats and retain same.
Mr Oteng Adu has also been trumpeting economic empowerment for the constituencies and creating financiers in each constituency to support party activities.
Regarding the relationship with the grassroots, he said “I will ensure regular constituency visitation, target and capture first-time voters for the NPP and Build a strong membership data system for decision making”
Michael Oteng Adu is an experienced politician who has risen through the ranks of politics and served as constituency chairman for New Juaben South.
In 2018 Oteng Adu contested the Regional First Vice Chairmanship position but lost marginally to then-incumbent Alhaji Omar Bodinga.
Alhaji Omar Bodinga who is currently the municipal chief executive for Abuakwa North Constituency has meanwhile endorsed Oteng Adu as the best bet for the second vice chairmanship position.
