Pentecost International Worship Center (PIWC-KOFORIDUA) on Saturday April 1, 2023 successfully organised medical outreach program for inhabitants predominantly peasant farmers in Konko, Timber Nkwanta,Tinkong, Sanfo, Amahi and surrounding farming communities in Okere and Akuapem North Municipalities in Eastern region.
The outreach dubbed “Konko for Christ” was spearheaded by the Medical Team and Evangelism Team in the church.
The medical team made up of Doctors, Nurses, Laboratory technicians and other Clinicians volunteered to provide medical services, free consultation and diagnosis, Blood pressure monitoring and blood sugar level testing.
Other medical laboratory services rendered were Malaria, typhoid, Ulcer and HIV testings.
Various drugs were dispensed to patients that required treatment while others with serious conditions were referred to the hospital.
Persons living with disabilities in these communities were also identified and provided various medical interventions.
Close to four hundred people were screened at the end of the exercise.
One hundred and seventy five (175) treated mosquitoes nets were distributed to protect the inhabitants from the scourge of malaria parasite.
National Health Insurance cards totalling One hundred and fifty seven (157) children and adults above 65 were renewed for free .
Second hand cloths ,shoes and sandals were also distributed to the people .
The Evangelism Team embarked on aggressive house to house evangelism to preach the gospel to the people which 43 souls were won.
The Counselling squad attended to fourteen (14) persons including teenage mothers who needed various counseling.
Clients were provided medical advise and were prayed for before finally discharged.
Present at the Medical Outreach program were District Minister Pastor Musa Yahaya, Presiding Elder Frederick Darfuor (a pharmacist), Eastern Regional Evangelism Director, Elder Divine, Elder Danso, District Pastor for Tinkong, Pastor Stephen Omesu Tetteh among others.
Chiefs and Elders of Konko Community as well as Local Assembly of the Church of Pentecost were also present.
The resident Minister of PIWC-KOFORIDUA ,Pastor Musa Yahaya said the exercise was part of annual evangelism and medical intervention with charity work the church extends to identified deprive communities.
He was impressed with the turn and outcome of the exercise.
