PIWC-Koforidua of The Church of Pentecost has conducted a successful medical outreach program in Asenema-Akuapem for surrounding communities such as Mile-14 in Eastern region.
This initiative aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the community’s residents and offer support in various forms.
A total of three hundred and six (306) inhabitants predominantly peasant farmers from five other surrounding communities benefitted from various healthcare services offered by Doctors, physician,Nurses, and other specialists.
The following services were provided:Health insurance renewal for 106 individuals.
Nutritionists attended to six critically malnourished children, addressing their dietary needs.
Four individuals with serious dental issues received immediate attention and care.
Sixty people received free eye care services, promoting visual health in the community.
Their Blood glucose,BP, body mass index were also checked.
The team also conducted Malaria and typhoid tests and administered free medications for treatment of diagnosed illnesses.
In a gesture of goodwill, ten bales of clothing were distributed to those in need.
Furthermore, the outreach extended beyond healthcare.
A total of 46 souls were won during house-to-house evangelism, emphasizing the holistic approach to community well-being.
Presiding Elder of PIWC-KOFORIDUA,Elder Frederick Darfuor also a pharmacist by profession, said PIWC-Koforidua Medical Outreach Program continues to make a positive impact in the lives of the residents in the Eastern Region.
He stated that ,Saturday’s medical outreach program was the third this year by the Health Guild and the Evangelism Ministry reflecting commitment of the church to both physical and spiritual well-being of the people.
