The Eastern Regional Police Command as part of this year’s Kwahu Easter festival is going to deploy as many police forces as possible, both uniformed and plain-clothed to ensure that before, during and after the festival everything is peaceful and successful without any incident.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command reveals that the Eastern Regional Police Command has mounted strategies to ensure a peaceful Easter festival in the Kwahu area
“The regional deployment will be Assisted by the National Headquarters and even other regions “He explained.
DSP Ebenezer Tetteh also hinted that there will be the deployment of drones and other equipment will ensure that our eyes and ears are on the ground to pick pieces of intelligence to help police clamp down on criminal activities
In terms of motor traffic, DSP Tetteh said “We are going to create two-way entry and exit points in the Nkawkaw area. Those coming from Nkawkaw do to the event grounds will be using the Atibie roads. And those exiting are going to use the Obomeng route. No motorcycles or vehicles that are unregistered will be allowed entry into the event grounds. We are also going to ensure that from Thursdays, we are not going to allow big trucks to climb or descend the Obomeng route of the Kwahu enclave on roads used as entry and exit”
Additionally, there will be Police presence and visibility on the Accra to Kumasi Highway.
“We are going to deploy motor traffic officers to ensure that road traffic strictly adheres”.
He, however, urged revellers and tourists not to throw caution to the wind, but to take their personal security seriously.
