A police constable, Chris Quarshie, on duty at the Akwadum barrier along the Koforidua to Suhum highway has been crushed to death by a speeding vehicle.
The police officer was on night duty when the speeding vehicle crashed the metallic barrier bar and knocked down the police Constable at about 11:00pm.
He sustained life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the St. Josephs Hospital in Koforidua but was referred to 37 military hospital but pronounced dead Friday morning.
Mybrytfmonline.com has gathered that the Inspector General of Police Dr George Akuffo Dampare was planning to visit the victim today at the hospital but for his death.
