A 78 year old man reported to be a retired pastor of The Church of Pentecost has died in accidental discharge of his personal pistol.
The deceased identified as Pastor Ayi Mantey fell on the gun which suddenly discharged into his armpit region and was rushed to the Asamankese Government Hospital but pronounced dead.
According to Samuel Mantey, son of the deceased, on Wednesday April 28,2021 in the evening, the now deceased took his registered gun to patrol the house after hearing some noise .
Samuel Mantey said he was following the father, however his father suddenly fell down on his gun which accidentally discharged on his right arms towards the ampit and was rushed to Hospital and later pronounced dead.
Asamankese Divisional Police Commander, A.C.P Akwasi Kankam Boadu who visited the scene said the family has confirmed that the man did not killed himself as being speculated rather he died out of accidental discharge .
