The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC) after a two-day advocacy campaign on the eradication of vigilantism, signed and adopted the roadmap issued by the Eastern Regional Peace Council.
As the country head towards it general elections, the Eastern Regional Peace Council in the quest to have a peaceful election in the region, organised a two-day forum bringing together representatives of political parties, youth groups, Centre for Human Rights Assistance and Public Legal Education, Christian Council, Community Impact Volunteers of Ghana the media, electoral commission, police and other stakeholders.

However, after the sensitization program held at the Diocesan Pastoral Training Centre – Koforidua, the various stakeholders in the region has accepted and signed onto the roadmap and the vigilantism act and it related offences.

The document, which also includes the code of conduct of political parties was drafted by stakeholders under the auspices of the Eastern Regional Peace Council.
The various stakeholders including the NDC and NPP have therefore pledged to support the cancellation and disbandment and also to ensure that their followers get committed to ensuring in peace before, during and after the general elections slated for December this year.
