Earlier reportage by Bryt fm on the poor state of the Sarkodee M/A Basic school roofing system has finally got attention by authorities.
Bryt fm reporter Kwabena Nyarko Abronoma reported in March, 2022, on the state of the roofing of the school as some roofing sheets had been taken off by heavy downpour without quick response from the relevant stakeholders.
Pupils and teachers were forced to study in the building despite the challenges they face whenever it rains or there is a windstorm.
Surprisingly, some churches who were also seen holding services in the building could not take up the task to roof the building as information gathered indicate, churches pay a fee to the school for using the facility.
However, a visit to the school last Friday revealed the roofs of the building has been fixed for pupils and teachers to comfortably have a good environment for teaching and learning.
Some residents who had earlier complained about the deadly state of the building, commended authorities for responding to the plea of the school but were surprised it has to take so many months to fix the situation which could have led into a disaster.
“We are happy the roofing has finally been fixed, but we are worried it has to take authorities more than six months to fix this small problem. We are happy no student or teacher got hurt during the peak period of the rainfall” some residents close to the school told the reporter.
