SDA Demo A school emerged winners of the 2023 Independence Day celebration march past in the New Juaben north municipality held at the SDA College of Education held on Monday.
The ceremony brought together five SHS, 25 basic, junior high and private schools and three cadet copse as well as representative of dressmakers and tailors association.
The Municipal Chief Executive, Madam Comfort Asante in her speech paid tribute to founding fathers and freedom fighters who laid their lives to gain independence for Ghana.
She further urged Ghanaians to learn from the selflessness, sacrifices, and dedication and serve the nation in like manner.
Despite acknowledging Ghana’s current economic woes, the MCE assured that government is putting in measures to help revive the economy and was optimistic that the IMF bailout would be a great advantage.
Madam Comfort Asante commenting on the Gold for Oil policy said the initiative is to help reduce the pressure on the millions of dollars needed to import petroleum products into the country.
“The Theme for this year’s celebration dubbed “Our unity; Our strength; Our Purpose is a call on all of us to be united more than ever and work together to move the nation forward, in times like this” she stated.
She added that Ghana is endowed with many natural resources and was of the view the many interventions by the Akufo-Addo goverbnment would go a long way to improve the livelihood of Ghanaians.
