A Man Diesel fuel tanker Vehicle carrying 4,500 liters of fuel has crashed five other vehicles after allegedly failing break while descending Akuapem Mamfe mountain in Eastern region Tuesday.
Many passengers and drivers of the affected vehicles suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital.
The tanker was heading towards Koforidua direction when the crash occured.
After crashing into several on coming vehicles ascending the mountain ,it finally veered off the road and run into a ditch but stabled therefore no fuel leakage recorded.
However,Fire firefighters from Ghana National Fire Service at Akropong arrived at the scene to ensure fire safety to avert the tanker bursting into flames..
The accident vehicles have been towed to Mamfe police station.
Efforts were also underway to discharge the fuel into another fuel tanker Vehicle.
