A task force has been inaugurated by West Akyem Municipal Assembly in the Eastern region to enforce among other things, a Ghc100 spot fine against indiscipline drivers in the Municipality.
The task force is made up of representatives of the Municipal Assembly, GPRTU, MTTD, and Protoa.
They are to aggressively enforce bylaws on No parking, No loading along the main Road after 7:00am to 5:00pm from the Police Station to Akroso Junction, No parking and No Loading at the Dukes Filling Station, No Parking and No loading along the Suhum Junction to Amanforom Junction from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Again, they will ensure that the One-Way designated routes strictly comply. The task force is mandated to arrest all Drivers flouting the traffic regulations and issue a Spot fine of GHs 100.
The MCE for West Akyem Seth Oduro assured the Taskforce of the Assembly’s support by providing them with some logistics such as reflectors and wheel clamps to aid them.
He said the measure is to ensure discipline among drivers in the Municipality and enhance law and order.
