The Eastern Regional Vice-Chairman of Tipper Track of the Union under the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), Dickson Osei Bonsu has revealed that his outfit will increase its service delivery charges as a result of the unstable price of fuel.
According to him, the unstable price of fuel has affected their activities over the past years, hence the need to increase their service delivery charges.
He stated that they travel far to Akyem communities and beyond before they get the sand and gravel for their customers.
“Our business is not going faster due to some small adjustment of the price but we will soon increase it again because of the unstable prices of the fuel,” said Mr Osei Bonsu.
Mr Osei Bonsu lamented that they are running at a loss in this current state of the economy and appealed to President Akufo-Addo to intervene in the unstable prices of fuel.
The tipper truck drivers complained that the current situation cannot even take care of their families as cost of fuel and spare parts are on the hike.
