Member of Parliament for Upper Manya Krobo in Eastern region Bismark Tetteh Nyarko has Commissioned a medical Laboratory facility at Sekesua Health Center.
The health center serves over six surrounding communities however operated without a lab facility therefore patients were mostly referred to Asesewa,Odumase or Koforidua for basic lab tests.
This stress and transportation cost forced some of the patients to abandon treatment and never returned to the facility.
Commissioning the Laboratory , the MP said upon hearing the challenges he decided to mobilize resources to establish the laboratory facility to improve quality healthcare.
The MP hinted that efforts are underway to get more resources expand the facility and upgrade it to a poly clinic status.
Physician Assistant at Sekesua Health Center Mr Tetteh -Lartey said the absent of laboratory affected quality healthcare delivery since lab test is integral part of medical diagnosis and treatment process.
He said the facility lost clients due to the situation then therefore Commended the MP for the intervention.
Administrator of the District Health Directorate, Mr Emmanuel Gbermo said processes are underway to secure National Health Insurance accreditation for the facility to enable the services covered by the scheme.
Dademantse Kumi on behalf of the local chiefs commended the MP for demonstrating his commitment to improve the living conditions of the people with various interventions and projects.
