A 33-year-old motorbike rider has died in a head-on collision with a Vehicle at Adeiso in the Upper West Akyem District of the Eastern Region.
The body of the deceased, Meshack Agyekum, has been deposited at the Eastern Regional Hospital Morgue.
According to the local Police, the incident occurred Friday, October 10, 2020, at about 5:10pm, when the suspect driver Stephen Amankwanor, 27, in charge of a Hyundai H100 mini bus with registration number GT 4514-16 traveling from Asamankese towards Nsawam direction.
On reaching a section of the road near the Upper West Akyem District Assembly office in Adeiso, the Vehicle collided head-on with an unregistered Royal motorbike ridden by Meshack Agyekum, with a pillion rider, Stephen Chamedi, 36.
Both the rider and pillion rider sustained serious injuries and rushed to the Adeiso health center for treatment but the motorbike rider was referred to Koforidua Central Hospital as his condition worsened but died the next day.
The driver of the Hyundai Vehicle Stephen Amankwanor was arrested but granted bail
The acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, Sargeant Francis Gomado confirmed the incident adding the accident vehicle and the motorbike have been impounding for investigation.
