Two persons on a motorbike have been crushed to death by a speeding commercial vehicle on Asamankese to Nsawam road in the Eastern Region.
The latest incident occurred 24 hours after a Kia truck with registration number ER 246-15 also crushed a rider and pillion to death on Tutu to Akanteng road in the same Municipality bringing the number of deaths to four (4) in the last days.
According to the local Police, on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at about 2:30pm, a driver -Ameyaw Shadrack, 40, was driving Hyundai H200 with registration number GE 6539-11 with passengers onboard traveling from Asamankese towards Nsawam direction.
However, on reaching a section of the road at Asuotwene near Asamankese township, the driver attempted to overtake a vehicle ahead of him and in the process collided with the motorbike onboard with two persons-rider and pillion, Alade Yaw, 28, and Enock Quaye, 29, respectively.
They sustained life-threatening injuries and were rushed to Asamankese Government Hospital but both were pronounced dead on arrival.
The bodies have been deposited at the morgue of the same Hospital.
